Glass House

This is a birds eye view of the glass house I built under the lake out behind my Tree House. It's only small but I think it's awesome!! There's actually a glass tunnel that connects it to my other glass house that's above ground.

This was fun to built, I had to use sand blocks to 'stop' the water for a bit. I then hollowed out the sand block I made, built my glass house and then broke up the sand blocks that were around the glass so that the water could flood back in and over my new house.

Mystery Cave

Walking along in the rain and I came across this mysterious cave built into the ground. Well of course I had to go and explore!!

The Ultimate Tree House

The ultimate tree house!

This was really fun to build, I love how they kind of blend in with the surrounding trees..

It's times like this I wish Minecraft was maybe a bit more like the Sims. Then I could share this with friends/other 'characters' who couldn't come and destory it.

"Aquarium"

I built an aquarium!! The idea sounded really cool and the aquarium itself actually looked really cool. The only problem was, it wouldn't 'contain' my aquatic animals!

I don't how, but they managed to just kind of osmose through the glass! 

These pictures were taken during the night and I think it looks good with the lights and the brigde! The bridge was one of the hardest things I've built so far. I know it doesn't look difficult but it was hard to get the blocks to attach to the right side.

Walking Dead

A small nod towards The Walking Dead series. I created a glass barn full of zombies in single player peaceful mode.
It was actually really fun, they follow your movements when you're on the outside, like the picture below shows.

House number....4?

I flew around for a bit to look for some land NOT affected by the current lava situation when I came across a great plot of flat land, near to the new football stadium.

I should have realised it was too good to be true.

I got this message just before I started my roof.

In my defense these signs definitely weren't where I was building until he mentioned them. The one below is right outside my house, I'm a messy builder, I'm pretty sure I would have seen this!

But since it was the same person who built the football stadium I cut my losses and moved on.

On to house number 5!!

Lava LAVA

So after finding out earlier that my first dwelling had been destroyed and realizing we were now in peaceful mode, I began to build myself a new, real house. I couldn't finish it before class finished so I did a huge tower of blue blocks on it so I couldn't lose it.

It was no match for the lava though.

Yes, next time I logged in there was just lava EVERYWHERE!!! I don't know where it came from or if someone started it intentionally but it wiped out the beginning of my first real home.

I tried asking another gamer on the server what to do about all the lava, his answer? " What lava where?" whether he was being an idiot/ sarcastic to me or he was in a whole other area, I don't know. But I really wasn't happy.

Been A While

So apparently it's been longer than I thought since I last played because when I logged in today our 'world' was surrounded by this huge stupid wall. Our main building also seems to have gone, or at least changed beyond recognition. How did I miss all of this!?

I was also mad because the main building was my landmark for my 'house'. I purposely built my home close to it since I'm always respawning! But nope, my house has gone :(

BUT

We are now in peaceful mode which means I can go and built a proper house, not killed by zombies and not die of hunger!!

That wall really annoys me though...it makes our world feel like prison and it's ugly. I don't know why someone would build it...

How Did I Get Here?

How did I get here? I don't know, but it made for a cool picture!
There was a maze of tunnels like this that would get darker and darker as I went down them.
I was just walking along minding my own business when I 'fell'. I hate when that happens because I always get stuck in weird places and then die of hunger!

Island Type Home

Saw this a while back whilst out on an adventure. I know we're not supposed to go on each others 'property' but I'm noisey, I wanted to have a look! I would never destroy someones buildings!!

Morning Adventures

For one reason or another I couldn't connect to the server this morning, so I decided to try out Single Player in the 'peaceful' setting.
While I enjoyed building a huge fancy 'house' and not having to worry about dying, it just wasn't the same. I missed the thrill of having to be on constant gaurd from zombies and skeletons ( definitely did not miss the constant dying though!) and while it was cool that I was pretty much given everything I could ask for...I kind of missed having to go out and forage!
In my ideal Minecraft, I could build a nice safe house and THEN enter into the real game, then at least I'd have a bed to respawn to when I died (face it, me dying is going to happen regardless!)

Womp Womp

So I respawned onto my roof, only to find someone had 'edited' my humble abode.

This really annoyed me since we have set up a chapter to prevent things like this happening. While I was being all annoyed a green monster came at me and yep you guessed it, blew me up. Along with some of my house. After that happened I wasn't so mad, maybe something similar had happened to some other poor confused fellow Minecrafter!

Some Things I stumbled Upon

This looks like some kind of face? With a huge opening mouth that I of course had to go and wonder into!

It appeared to be someone elses dwelling. I wonder if they found the mountain like that or did it on purpose?

This reminded me of a tiger, the way the rocks are staggered and kind of look like stripes.

Screen Shot Fail

I am amazed at some of the awesome buildings I see when I go out on my 'adventures'. However, while out on one of these adventures in the pouring rain, I came across what looked like not much on the outside...until I FELL into this amazing underground cavern/house! I don't know if someone built this,  but I'm guessing so. i will say the shock of falling underground disorientated me and then once I finally found my way out again I fell down another secret hole (I say secret but it could be a very obvious hole that I just fail to see!)
My intention was to attach some awesome screen shots I took, however I have 'misplaced' them. Hopefully my brother can help me find them and I can share them!
Back To Adventuring!

Determination

It's funny how the first few times of me playing Minecraft had been replaying in my head (to the point where I definitely had dreams about blocks!?) It was these thoughts that got me psyched up and I decided that I was now determined to NOT GET KILLED!
Cue my next attempt at Minecraft.
 I got killed.
BUT not before I managed to build a small, basic house. Yes it's currently only made out of dirt but it's a house and it's close to the Academy - so I will never loose it! I like to go and hide in it when it gets dark, although I did get a sneaky skeleton that was shooting me through my 'windows'. I have also been doing some googling for 'recipes' - this led me to be able to build a crafting table. Sadly the tools I made were lost when I got into a fight with some angry man on fire that my wooden pick axe was just no match for and I died....
Every time I respawn I panic because I always feel like I have no idea where I am! Also I think I saw one of those 'creatures' that we're not supposed to make eye contact with, it's safe to say I tried to move away from him and keep my eyes down.

Also something I need to remember; wolves can and will kill if provoked! Hunger can make you a risk taker (or an idiot).

My first experience with Minecraft

I'd heard about Minecraft before from my younger brother who is a big fan of it, so I was looking forward to trying it out myself. My first try with Minecraft...was terrible! I had no idea what I was doing where I was going or how to do stuff.
Once I finally found out how to collect material I got 3 whole pieces of dirt (Wooo!?) and then...I was attacked by a huge spider, as hard as I tired to 'beat ' the spider to death I failed. (My fear of huge spiders? Yea that's not going anywhere after that encounter!)
After I had respawned I used my new found material collecting knowledge to go and collect more dirt. With this dirt I started to build a 'house'. My house started out small but as my house building confidence grew so did my house. That was until the night fall came, I had already experienced one night fall and was terrified of what this one would bring. I did not have the tools or knowledge to survive a zombie attack! To survive this night I dug a hole in my unfinished house and hid in it, cowardly but I didn't know what else to do.

Minecraft at night scares me!!
